ISDIA
The International Conference on Information System Design and Intelligent Applications (ISDIA), formerly known as INDIA, has a long-standing legacy of bringing together global researchers, academics, and industry professionals. Since its inception in 2012, ISDIA has grown into a prestigious platform recognized for fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and showcasing innovations in intelligent systems. Over the past decade, it has been hosted in India, Vietnam, Mauritius, and the UAE, attracting participation from dozens of countries and hundreds of delegates. With successful partnerships, including publication through Springer Nature, ISDIA continues to push the boundaries of academic excellence and applied research in intelligent systems.
The theme of ISDIA 2026, “Agentic AI and Sustainability,” is both a reflection of our technological present and a visionary look into our collective future. Coinciding with Emirati Environment Day on February 7, this edition of ISDIA acknowledges the UAE’s national agenda to become a global hub for sustainability, innovation, and AI readiness—an agenda enshrined in key initiatives like the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy, the National AI Strategy 2031, and the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence.
Agentic AI refers to AI systems capable of autonomous, goal-driven behavior—systems that do not merely respond to instructions, but proactively take initiative based on context, learned knowledge, and ethical boundaries. These agentic systems include AI agents that make decisions, learn over time, and interact in real-time environments across sectors—from climate monitoring and healthcare delivery to energy grid optimization and waste management.
Agentic AI moves beyond passive automation. It enables active decision-making, adaptive planning, and human-machine collaboration, allowing technologies to operate at scale and with nuance in complex, dynamic systems.
Sustainability is no longer an optional goal; it is a survival imperative. The integration of intelligent technologies into sustainability initiatives has already shown promising outcomes across energy, transportation, agriculture, climate science, and urban development.
However, with escalating global challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and rising urbanization, the role of AI—especially Agentic AI—in driving adaptive, real-time, and scalable solutions becomes central. In this regard, ISDIA 2026 acts as a catalyst for knowledge exchange, co-design, and forward-looking solutions that directly support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and local UAE mandates.
ISDIA 2026 is proudly hosted by the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), a pioneer in international higher education in the UAE. UOWD is one of the country’s most respected institutions, known for fostering innovation, academic excellence, and industry-driven research. Located in Dubai Knowledge Park, UOWD provides an ideal environment for global collaboration, especially given its strong network with regional and international partners. Following the success of ISDIA 2025, which UOWD also hosted, the university returns as a hub for scholarly exchange and technological foresight.
University of Wollongong, Australia (UOW Australia) is one of the world's most respected young universities. UOW is ranked among top 200 universities in the World and a 5+ star ranking by QS World University Rankings 2021. The School of Computer Science is very research active and is home to several research clusters and research groups in Artificial Intelligence, Security and IT.
Innovative Research Consultancy (IRC) based in UP, India, is a dynamic IT consultancy firm dedicated to advancing research excellence, promoting academic collaboration, and nurturing startup ecosystems. With a strong focus on innovation and impact, IRC partners with universities and institutions to organize international conferences, skill development workshops, and mentorship programs that empower researchers, scholars, and students to contribute meaningfully to the global knowledge economy.
Beyond the academic realm, IRC actively supports early-stage startups by offering strategic advisory, access to funding networks, and end-to-end mentorship. Our goal is to build resilient, innovation-driven enterprises capable of addressing real-world challenges.
With a robust network of professionals and subject matter experts, IRC is committed to enabling growth and transformation in the technology sector by providing:
At IRC, we strive to be a catalyst for change—nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and delivering sustainable societal impact.
As the world stands at the crossroads of ecological urgency and technological possibility, ISDIA 2026 invites scholars, practitioners, industry leaders, and policymakers to contribute to building an agentic and sustainable AI future—a future where AI doesn’t just solve problems but anticipates needs, adapts ethically, and operates in harmony with environmental and societal systems.
By aligning academic discourse with real-world applications, and situating the conference during a nationally recognized day of environmental reflection, ISDIA 2026 seeks to become a landmark event in shaping the next era of intelligent, responsible innovation.
ISDIA 2026 invites high-quality, original research submissions from scholars, practitioners, and students in the areas of Information System Design and Intelligent Applications. The conference will be held in hybrid mode on February 7–8, 2026, with Day 1 hosted onsite in Dubai and Day 2 conducted virtually via Webex. We welcome contributions across theoretical and applied dimensions of intelligent systems, with a focus on interdisciplinary innovation, real-world impact, and responsible AI.
Building on the success of ISDIA 2025, which focused on “AI for Healthcare,” ISDIA 2026 expands the conversation toward Agentic AI and Sustainability. Accepted and registered papers will be published in Springer Nature's Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, indexed in SCOPUS, DBLP, and Web of Science, subject to Springer’s editorial guidelines.
Submitted papers must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer review process, and accepted papers must be registered to be included in the final proceedings.
